The recently retired Utah state flag, used from 1913 to 2024, featured the state seal on a dark blue field. The seal displays a bald eagle clutching arrows above a shield picturing beehive and Sego Lilies, An American flag is draped behind the shield. The years 1847 (marking the Mormon pioneers' arrival) and 1896 (Utah’s statehood) appear below. The word "Utah" is also prominently displayed beneath the seal.
