Can I fly my American flag in bad weather?
The United States Flag Code states:
"The flag should not be displayed on days when the weather is inclement, except when an all weather flag is displayed."
All-weather flags are specially made to resist the elements and are generally labeled as such by flag manufacturers. Even flags labeled as being all-weather flags, however, can be damaged by high winds and extreme conditions. We recommend good judgment when determining whether a flag should remain flying during bad weather.
